Apple issues statement on iCloud.com attacks

[/url]

Apple has issued a statement regarding the attacks on iCloud.com, originally reported yesterday. Apple says that they are aware of the attacks, and they outline steps that users can take to make sure they are secure when using the iCloud website. Apple says a little about the security measures for the website, and details what you should see when logging into iCloud on Safari, Chrome, and Firefox.

From Apple:

The iCloud website is protected with a digital certificate. If users get an invalid certificate warning in their browser while visiting www.icloud.com, they should pay attention to the warning and not proceed. Users should never enter their Apple ID or password into a website that presents a certificate warning. To verify that they are connected to the authentic iCloud website, users can check the contents of the digital certificate as shown below for Safari, Chrome, and Firefox—each of which provides both certificate information and warnings.

Apple stresses that these attacks don't impact iCloud sign in on iOS device, or Macs running OS X Yosemite using Safari.

How do you feel about Apple's response to these attacks? Sound off below in the comments.

Source: Apple
