Building a new pc

Hi,
I'm building a new pc, I'd like to install mac osx on it, so right now, I already changed my graphics card, and I took a nvidia card because I know they work better with it.
So now I'm in the process of buying a new proc + motherboard, and I want them to be compatible too, so basically I know there are compatibility lists for all kinds of hardware but I'd like to have some first hand experience about compatibility with 'modern' hardware. I know I should go with an intel processor, but are all motherboard chipsets the same, as long as they're marked as working ?
So, if you have any experience with modern hardware, please share.
