The Cupertino giant launched the
iPhone 6 and
iPhone 6 Plus in India within a month of their official debut in the US, making it the first time consumers in the country had such early access to the latest iPhones. <!--break--> Citing an insider source,
Economic Times said:</p>
<p>The company is finalizing plans to become a serious player in India, which is being seen as a strategic and one of the most promising markets globally.</p>
<p>Apple is said to be focusing its attention on smaller cities and towns as it feels that there is a "very high" potential for its products in these territories:</p>
<p>We are amazed at the purchasing power in smaller towns. The primary objective is to give a better and proper experience with adequate product demonstration</p>
<p>According to
ET, Apple has given tentative approval for the new store locations, with an official confirmation set to be forthcoming "very soon." These new storefronts will be smaller in size to the 2,000 square feet locations that are normally seen in bigger cities, with estimates that the stores will be ranging from 300 to 600 square feet. The focus with these stores will be to highlight Apple's products and give users the ability to get some hands-on time with the latest iPhones.</p> <p>Source:
