retail location on Chicago's Michigan Avenue, heading south to the banks of the Chicago River. The company is said to be hoping to build primarily underground, with a glass structure on top, much like the iconic Fifth Avenue store in New York.</p> <!--break--> <p>From

<p>Apple's new store is expected to be accessible via street level—likely through a new glass structure—on Pioneer Court, the plaza in front of a 35-story office building owned by Chicago-based Zeller Realty Group, the sources said. Much of the store's space is planned underneath the plaza, connecting into basement space formerly used as a food court in the office building.</p>
<p>Local developers seem to think that Apple's presence at the new location will help boost other development in the area, which has already grown thanks to dramatically increased tourism from nearby Millenium Park.</p> <p>In addition to its Michigan Avenue location, Apple has several other retail locations in Chicago, including stores on North Avenue, Orland Square, Oakbrook Center, and Old Orchard Center.</p> <p>Source:
