Apple is making a whole lotta money.I know. It's a shock. A few of us at Mac|Life came down with the vapors when we heard, so we understand if you need a moment or two to compose yourself.With that out of the way, let it be said that AppleInsider is reporting that Apple Retail store sales shot up by 8%, fueled by a 22.3% increase in over-the-year Mac sales. In a brief note on the matter, investment banking and asset management firm Needham & Company, told their constituents:...One of Apple's initial reasons for opening Apple Stores was to spotlight the Mac, which had virtually no retail visibility... With an installed base that has doubled in the last five years, the Mac is going mainstream with many consumer electronic chains now selling the Mac both here and abroad.In layman's terms, Apple Stores make Apple boatloads of money, and with Mac gaining more celebrity every day, they stand to make bigger boat loads of money, especially when one considers the fact that more and more retail outlets have beguncarrying Macs, iPads and the rest of Apple's product lines.
