Suck It, Foreigners: Your iPad is Delayed One Month!

If you live outside of the United States and have been lusting for an iPad, chances are you won’t want to read this post.Gizmodo is reporting that Apple will be delaying the international launch of the iPad by a full month, citing “surprisingly strong U.S. demand.” For those of you who don’t know what today’s date is, that means you won’t be able to preorder (or even know what the price will be) until May -- and then proceed to wait even longer until it’s actually in your hand. The news comes by way of an Apple press release which states:“Although we have delivered more than 500,000 iPads during its first week, demand is far higher than we predicted and will likely continue to exceed our supply over the next several weeks as more people see and touch an iPad. We have also taken a large number of pre-orders for iPad 3G models for delivery by the end of April.“Faced with this surprisingly strong U.S. demand, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the international launch of iPad by one month, until the end of May. We will announce international pricing and begin taking online preorders on Monday, May 10th. We know that many international customers waiting to buy an iPad will be disappointed by this news, but we hope they will be pleased to learn the reason -- the iPad is a runaway success in the U.S. thus far.”Uh, sure, Apple… your international customers are always being treated like second-class citizens, so we’re certain that they’ll be pleased to watch everyone over here playing with their iPads for another month before they can get one, too.At least they didn’t bump the 3G-equipped iPad (yet)…
